AGROECO capacity-building training in Cairo, Egypt!

From 5-11 January 2025, we proudly took part in the AGROECO capacity-building training in Cairo, Egypt!. This impactful initiative brought together 4 partner organizations from Europe (Finland and Italy) and North Africa (Morocco and Egypt), uniting efforts to empower rural youth and youth workers with the knowledge, skills, and tools to embrace sustainable agricultural practices and green entrepreneurship.

Highlights of the training (held from 6-10 January):

– Promoting non-formal learning to enhance the competencies of young people, particularly girls and those with fewer opportunities.

– Strengthening cooperation between the Mediterranean and European regions through joint initiatives.

– Raising awareness of ecological and healthier agricultural practices to foster sustainability.

The training also focused on:

– Addressing the educational needs of rural youth.

– Supporting the development of climate-friendly agricultural actions.

– Improving organizational capacity in the South Mediterranean to align with European standards.
Participants gained hands-on experience in agroecological techniques like aquaponics and synergistic gardening, which they can now implement in their local contexts. Young people developed entrepreneurial skills, especially in turning agricultural waste into green business opportunities. The program fostered cross-cultural collaboration, building bridges between youth from different regions. Participants left inspired and equipped with practical tools to drive sustainable change in their communities.
